Dining and Playtime Bliss at Baloo Restaurant in Agios Tychonas

Discovering Baloo: A Perfect Blend of Fine Dining and Family Fun

As an expat mum living in Pareklisia, Cyprus, finding a spot where both kids and adults can enjoy themselves can be a challenge. This weekend, my family and I visited Baloo, a new upmarket restaurant in Agios Tychonas that hits the mark perfectly.

A Safe Haven for Kids

Baloo boasts a small but very well-designed play space that's perfect for young children. Our 5-year-old was probably the oldest child who would still find it engaging, but for toddlers, it’s a dream. The area is self-contained, featuring a ball pit, a small slide, and a padded zone with various toys. This setup allowed us to sit at a table nearby or relax at the bar while feeling confident our children were safe and entertained. We even managed to squeeze in a few minutes of adult conversation!

Delicious but Pricey Menu

The food at Baloo was healthy and delicious, albeit on the expensive side. The kids had salmon with rice and cucumber, which was a hit, and the chicken soup filled with vegetables, chicken, and noodles, which both the 3 and 5-year-olds devoured. For the grown-ups, we tried the prawn risotto and prawn pasta. While both dishes were tasty, the portions were a bit on the smaller side.

Here’s a breakdown of our meal:

  • Kids Salmon with Rice and Cucumber: €12

  • Chicken Soup: €8

  • Prawn Risotto: €18

  • Prawn Pasta: €16

  • White Wine: €5

Overall Impression

Baloo provides a good environment for families with young children. The kids’ play area is a standout feature, ensuring they are safe and happy while parents can enjoy a meal. Although the prices are on the higher end, the quality of food and the peaceful dining experience make it a decent option for a special family outing.

Overall, Baloo offers a good environment for families. The kids’ play area is a key feature, making it a potential spot for parents seeking a dining option where their children can play safely. While on the pricier side, the food is of good quality, and the setting is conducive to a pleasant family outing.
