Discovering Rainborama: playgroup paradise

One of the many climbing frames

In the heart of our vibrant expat community here in Cyprus, there’s a hidden gem that has quickly become a cherished part of my family’s weekly routine - Rainborama. Hosted by the wonderfully welcoming Sarah at her home on Wednesday and Thursday mornings and afternoons, Rainborama is more than just a playgroup; it’s a haven for new mums looking to connect and for little ones to explore and grow.

A world of fun and friendship

Rainborama stands out as one of the most fun, relaxed playgroups I've had the pleasure of joining. It’s an ideal spot for informal socializing and meeting mums from various nationalities. I've been attending most weeks with my 1-year-old, and he absolutely adores it. Even though my older two children, due to school commitments, can't join as often, the times they've been able to attend have been filled with joy and laughter.

Flexible and family-friendly

What I particularly love about Rainborama is its flexibility. Sarah charges a very reasonable 10 euros per session, per child, without any upfront commitment. This approach is perfect for those unpredictable days when little ones might be under the weather or nap times extend unexpectedly. I usually bring a packed lunch for my little one, and he’s more than happy to enjoy it there, in the company of his new friends.

A space to grow and explore

Sarah’s home, the venue for Rainborama, offers an expansive garden that's a dream come true for any child. With a trampoline and a variety of activities available at any time, there’s no shortage of entertainment or opportunities for physical play. Moreover, Sarah leads songs, games, and parachute play tailored specifically for kids from 6 months old to toddlers, ensuring a fun-filled time for all.

Inclusive and welcoming

One of the unique aspects of Rainborama is its inclusivity. Approximately every month or two, Sarah organizes a session on a Saturday afternoon. This special session allows dads and older siblings to join in and see what Rainborama is all about, fostering a sense of community and shared joy among families.

A hub for making connections

Through Rainborama, I've met an incredible group of mums, leading to numerous playdates and the deepening of friendships. It’s a testament to the welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that Sarah has cultivated, making everyone feel at home.

Rainborama isn’t just a playgroup; it’s a place where memories are made, friendships are formed, and children are given the space to play, learn, and grow. If you're an expat mum in Cyprus looking for a relaxed, fun-filled environment for your little ones (and yourself!), Rainborama is a treasure worth exploring. See you there!
